Singer Maddy Prior still energetically leads the historic Steeleye Span, who recorded this album in various studios in London, Hastings, Oxford, Cumbria and Somerset. Liam Genockey (drums and percussion), Julian Littman (guitar, mandolin, keyboards and vocals), Roger Carey (bass and vocals), Andrew 'Spud' Sinclair (guitar and vocals) and the new arrivals Jessica May Smart (fiddle and vocals) and Benji Kirkpatrick (bouzouki, guitar, mandolin, banjo and vocals), are her current travelling companions. The harmonic and choral singing of "Harvest", the guitar-driven, rocking and humorous "Domestic", the traditional folk of "The January Man" and the suggestive a cappella closing of "Reclaimed" confirm the state of health of the group, which in "Old Matron" hosts the flute of Ian Anderson.
