A double compilation of early tracks by Steeleye Span, Martin Carthy, Tim Hart and Maddy Prior. They are important for collectors as the track General Taylor was never released on other records. The Cambra album Steeleye Span (1984) has the same tracks as Time Span but in a different order. It also claims that all tracks were from this group and doesn’t acknowledge the members’ solo and duo tracks.

Sono importanti per i collezionisti poiché la traccia General Taylor non è mai stata pubblicata su altri dischi. L'album Steeleye Span (1984) della Cambra ha le stesse tracce di Time Span ma in un ordine diverso:in esso si afferma inoltre che tutte le tracce provenivano da questo gruppo e non riconosce le tracce soliste e in duo dei membri.
