Fairport Convention, XXXV : 1967-2002 The 35th Anniversary Album, 2LP Let Them Eat Vinyl 2014 - LETV156LP

The 35th anniversary album certainly doesn't lack intensity: 14 tracks including the live "The Crowd" recorded at the annual Cropredy reunion, the voice is that of Ann Ryde. Also commendable is the version of Portmeirion with Ian Anderson on the flute (obviously); also enchanting is "The light of Day" by Chris Leslie and its overwhelming finale. Elegant packaging designed by Mike Toole and beautiful portraits of the musicians by Mark Hadley.
