Fairport Convention, Nine, LP UK Island Records (October 1973) - ILPS 9246

After the departure of Richard Thompson, the group found stability with the arrival of guitarist Jerry Donahue and released this album with decidedly more rocking accents. Some songs are intense like "Polly on the shore", written by Dave Pegg and sung sublimely by Trevor Lucas. The album has very poor packaging, which changes color depending on the place of publication (the American one is red, the English one is brown).

Dopo la partenza Richard Thompson, il gruppo ritrova stabilità con l'arrivo del chitarrista Jerry Donahue e pubblica questo disco dagli accenti decisamente più rockeggianti. Non mancano tuttavia alcune canzoni intense come "Polly on the shore", scritta da Dave Pegg e cantata in modo sublime da Trevor Lucas. L'album possiede una confezione assai povera, che cambia colore in relazione al luogo di pubblicazione (rossa quella americana, marrone quella inglese).
