Fairport Convention, Full House, LP UK Island Records (July 1970) - ILPS 9130

The history of Fairport is quite turbulent: Sandy Danny and Ashley Hutchings distance themselves from the group, the first to found Steeleye Span, the second to find a more personal path. The excellent bassist Dave Pegg joins the group in place of Hutchings. Despite these abandonments, the album is an important milestone, Thompson and Swarbrick's voices are fascinating, evocative, songs like "Sloth" and "Doctor of Physick" rightfully enter the history of folk rock. The graphics of the package take us back to tradition with those playing cards on which medieval figures can be seen.
