Fairport Convention, Unhalfbricking

Il disco è segnato dall'arrivo del violinista Dave Swarbrick che contribuisce a indirizzare decisamente il cammino del gruppo verso quello che si definisce il nuovo folk rock inglese. Parallelamente esce dal gruppo il batterista Ian Matthews, molto più "americano" nelle tendenze. E' un periodo felice per la band se non fosse per l'incidente stradale in cui perde la vita Martin Lamble. Sandy Danny canta con enorme intensità. L'edizione americana, decisamente da collezione, ha una grafica molto naif, quasi surreale (le nuvole, gli elefanti) che fa contrasto con quella,molto più classica, della Island (gli anziani genitori di Sandy davanti al giardino della loro villa).
