Sei anni dopo, Pierre Bensusan ritorna con un disco meraviglioso (ma perché il titolo "Azwan"?). "Son of the Rose" è una composizione evocativa, suonata sulle corde di basso della chitarra e del contrabbasso pizzicato, quindi sale verso l'alto con un flusso di note sempre più intenso, accompagnato dal contrabbasso suonato ad archetto. "Optimystical" ha una splendida melodia di base, tutta sulla chitarra suonata in contrappunto, accompagnata da vocalizzazioni, zufoli e corde suonate sugli armonici. "Azwan" ha un grande lirismo con la cassa della chitarra “Old lady” Lowden di Pierre che risuona nel vero senso della parola. "Abeilles" è una composizione molto complessa, Pierre lavora molto sul vibrato delle corde, il climax sale e finisce con un coro di voci dal forte impatto emotivo. "Balkangeles" è un dialogo, dai suoni balcanici, tra la chitarra di Pierre e quella delle corde di nylon di Jean Marie Ecay, che è anche il produttore del disco; il timbro in questo caso è composto da sequenze di accordi jazz. "Return to Ireland" ci riporta alla tradizione popolare e alla memoria del primo Pierre Bensusan, quello dell’ album "Près de Paris". Ma l'eclettismo di questo artista ci conduce con "Whitout You" ai suoni sudamericani che accompagna con le vocalizzazioni. "Wee Dander" (forse un omaggio al libro di Kenneth Patterson?) sfrutta tutto il potenziale della chitarra, incluso il suono secco ed energico della mano aperta che batte le corde. "Dia libre" è una composizione molto poetica soprattutto grazie alla sensibilità del violinista Christophe Cravero e del contrabbassista Stéphane Kerecki. Si arriva così a "Portnoo", un breve pezzo ispirato alla tradizione irlandese e dedicato a una bellissima spiaggia del Donegal. La prima canzone dell'album si chiama "Corps Vaudou", è ispirata alla mitologia monoteistica africana e ai suoi rituali, il testo è stato scritto dalla moglie di Pierre, Doatea Cornu. La conclusione dell'album è molto bella e dedicata a Manitowoc, una città del Wisconsin negli Stati Uniti. L'album è stato registrato da Maikol Seminatore negli studi DADGAD di Chateau-Thierry. L'autore della copertina e delle fotografie è Christian Taillemite.

Six years later, Pierre Bensusan returns with a wonderful record (but what means the title "Azwan"?). “Fils de la Rose” i.e. "Son of the Rose" is an evocative composition, played on the bass strings of the guitar and the pizzicato upright bass of Stephane Kerecki, then rises to the top with an increasingly intense flow of notes, accompanied by the upright bass played on the bow. "Optimystical" has a splendid basic melody, all on the guitar played in counterpoint, accompanied by vocalizations, whistles and strings played on harmonics. "Azwan" has a great lyricism with Pierre's "Old lady" Lowden guitar case that resonates in the true sense of the word. "Abeilles" is a very complex composition, Pierre works a lot on the vibrato of the strings, the climax rises and ends with a chorus of voices with a strong emotional impact. "Balkangeles" is a dialogue, with Balkan sounds, between Pierre's guitar and Jean Marie Ecay's nylon strings guitar. The timbre in this case is composed of sequences of jazz chords. "Return to Ireland" brings us back to the popular tradition and memory of the first Pierre Bensusan’s album "Près de Paris". But the eclecticism of this artist leads us with "Whitout You" to the South American sounds that he accompanies with vocalizations.
