"1990" could be defined as a transition album: it goes from the heavy rock tendencies of "The flood" to more swing compositions, but the feeling is the same, the group is going through an identity crisis. This is also well represented by the packaging: The image of the musicians in the cover photo by Andrew Cleal is disappearing, they become like shadows. Speaking of graphics, it must also be said that the pink background by the designer Tony Engle is questionable.

"1990" potremmo definirlo un album di transito: si va dalle tendenze rockettare pesanti di "The flood" a composizioni più swing, ma la sensazione è la stessa, e cioè che il gruppo attraversi una crisi di identità. Essa è peraltro ben rappresentata dalla confezione: L'immagine dei musicisti nella foto di copertina di Andrew Cleal va scomparendo, essi diventano come ombre. Parlando di grafica, va anche detto che lo sfondo rosa del disegnatore Tony Engle è discutibile.
