The Albion Band, Stella Maris, LP
UK Making Waves 1987 - SPIN 130
Certainly
not a “trad” album: we are in the mid-eighties, years of
crisis for the folk revival, new paths are being sought and this album
is influenced by a psychedelia that was very popular in those years.
Keyboards and synths abound, even Lesurf's voice is very filtered. That
said, the album is appreciable, it is very energetic. The graphic
design, between sky and sea, between graphics and photography, is not
very convincing.
