The album was produced by Trevor Lucas, recorded and mixed by John Wood at Sound Techniques & Basing Street Studios, in the winter of 1972. The cover photograph, by David Bailey, is striking, showing an aggressive Sandy, far from the country atmospheres of those years. Collaborating with her were Richard Thompson (guitars, mandolin), Pat Donaldson (bass), Timi Donald (drums), John Bundrick (organ).
