"The Pentangle family" è un doppio cd dedicato agli esordi del gruppo, i brani sono tratti dai primi cinque album editi, tra il 1968 e il 1971, dalla Transatlantic, con l'aggiunta di altri brani di Bert Jansch e John Renbourn, selezionati in particolare dal mitico "Bert & John" del 1966. In totale la bellezza di 36 brani disposti in un crescendo di notevole intensità. Interessante anche la confezione che contiene un testo di Laurence Aston che racconta i primi anni di storia della band. In copertina troviamo il pentagono simbolo disegnato da Becky Stuart all'interno del quale sono collocate alcune foto storiche di Brian Shuel.
