Christy Moore, On The Road
2CD Sony Music 2017 (88985493842) The
24 live tracks of that double album were recorded during the last three years
at seventeen different venues in Ireland, Scotland and England. It features new
versions of the most requested songs. The total duration is about 94 minutes and
includes about half half Christy’s tunes and covers. The quality of the
recording is truly exceptional, the sound is detailed and full-bodied. This may
certainly be credited to Jim Higgins (producer and the percussionist) and to
David Meade (sound engineer) Both mixed and mastered the album. Christy's voice
has a great emotional impact thanks to the richness of its nuances. All the
musicians (credited to this release) contribute greatly to the overall sound.
They are listed below. At last, one other important component of this album is
the audience. We may feel the presence of the audience through the singing (of
the songs), the laughs (at Christy’s jokes) and the applause. Even the
packaging is beautiful. The booklet presents
all the texts in addition to the photographs of Adam Sherwood. Tracks
