Sol Invictus, The Cruellest Month

Auerbach Tontrager  AB031  (CD, 2011)

The waiting finally comes to an end! Six years after "The Devil's Steed" and nearly twelve months after the album's harbinger "The Bad Luck Bird," the 10th of June is going to see a new album by Neofolk's founding fathers Sol Invictus, "The Cruellest Month." On their full-length debut for Auerbach Tonträger, the musicians around Tony Wakeford and Andrew King deploy all their skills and present an angular, combative, and painful album, one of a kind you haven't heard from Sol Invictus in a long time. The author of cover painting is Tor Lundvall.
