Fairport Convention, Rising for the Moon,
LP UK Island Records (June 1975) - ILPS 9313
It is an album in which the
group leaves the happily undertaken path of "traditional arranged" to
adopt a folk rock that is not particularly original but illuminated by
some beautiful songs by Sandy Denny ("After Halloween" and "One More
Chance"). The album also has a new producer, Glyn Johns, who hopes to
revive the band's fortunes in crisis in terms of popularity. For the
graphics, we rely on craftsmanship from Trevor Lucas' sister, Marion,
who designs an exotic cover (Sandy "makes" the cards, the rest of the
group drinks).
