Fairport Convention, Rosie, LP UKIsland Records (February 1973)  - ILPS 9208

1972 was a difficult year for Fairport; Simon Nicol leaves the group to follow Ashley Hutchings into the Albion Band. The singer Trevor Lucas (Sandy Danny's husband) and the American guitarist Jerry Donahue join the lineup. The album is not the best, there is only one traditional song and many pieces appear a little too easy, with the exception of the intense "Rosie" which gives the album its title. Mick Haggerty has curated an evocative cover.
