After the retrospective "Old Dog Long Road" volume 1 here is the volume 2! Most of the tracks on this double CD are Andy Irvine’s solo performances, concerts and home recordings. This album includes also songs and some of them are recorded with other musicians and unreleased. The Greek song "The Snows" with Mozaik (Andy, Dónal Lunny, Bruce Molsky, Rens van der Zalm and Nikola Parov) and with Chrysoula Kechagioglou, is a recorded track, but was left out of Mozaik's latest album "The Long And The Short Of It ". The version of "A Blacksmith Courted Me" (recorded in Dublin in 1970) is very striking, with a very particular and very original mandolin arpeggio compared to the better-known version recorded with Planxty. Then there is another live Planxty track with Johnny Moynihan, Paul Brady and the late Liam O'Flynn which is "As I Roved Out" (recorded in Germany in 1975); the work of Johnny Moynihan at the harmonium is particularly striking. The disc was mixed and mastered by Leon O’Neill at the Irish West 91 studio. The artwork is done by Kumiko Irata.

Dopo la retrospettiva "Old Dog Long Road" volume 1 ecco il volume 2! La maggior parte delle tracce di questo doppio CD sono performance di Andy Irvine solista, concerti e registrazioni casalinghe, ma ci sono alcune canzoni e brani, registrati con altri musicisti e inediti. La canzone greca, "The Snows" con Mozaik (Andy, Dónal Lunny, Bruce Molsky, Rens van der Zalm e Nikola Parov) e con Chrysoula Kechagioglou, è una traccia registrata, ma lasciata fuori dall'ultimo album di Mozaik "The Long And The Short Of It ". Ma colpisce molto la versione di "A Blacksmith Courted Me" (registrato a Dublino nel 1970), con un arpeggio di mandolino molto particolare e assai originale rispetto alla versione più nota registrata con Planxty. C'è poi un altro brano dei Planxty dal vivo con Johnny Moynihan, Paul Brady e il compianto Liam O'Flynn che è "As I Roved Out" (registrato in Germania nel 1975); qui colpisce particolarmente il lavoro di Johnny Moynihan all’harmonium. Il disco è stato mixato e masterizzato da Leon O’Neill presso l’irlandese West 91 studio. L’artwork è curato da Kumiko Irata.
